The team was founded in
1984 and has readily established a reputation
as one of the elite teams in women’s
rugby. They have won the National Cup four
times; been crowned Premier League Champions
three times and have taken the National
Sevens title three times.
Their winning attitude and flawless performance
played a huge part in our deciding to sponsor
them, as we at Blue Cannon always strive
for the best.
As sponsors, we will help improve training
facilities and equipment at Wasps home ground
at Twyford Avenue in Acton, as well as allowing
for the development of Wasps Academy for
Girls aged 12-17.
The establishment of the Youth Section
mirrors Blue Cannon’s fresh and innovative
approach to recruitment. By offering quality
training, we hope to create a team –
and, similarly, a workforce - that will
continue to be the team to beat.

Blue Cannon Recruitment
sponsored the annual football speaker
of the year lunch at the Jarvis Piccadilly
Hotel In Manchester on Friday 20th September.
The Lunch was a great success and once
again was superbly organised by Mike
Newlin of MBN Promotions in Altrincham. |
|
The speakers competing for
the Jackie Blanchflower Memorial Trophy
were:
Tommy Smith MBE:
- Legendary Liverpool ‘Hardman’
Howard Kendall: - Ex Everton
and Manchester City Manager
Willie Henderson: - Brilliant
winger for Glasgow Rangers and Scotland
Wilf McGuinness: - Ex Manchester
United Manager
All four speakers shared some
great stories with the audience and made
it a great occasion. Unfortunately there
could be only one winner and on the day
it went to Wilf McGuinness.
Blue Cannon are looking forward
to sponsoring two more events this year,
both at Chester Racecourse. (For a full
list of all forthcoming events see www.mbnpromotions.co.uk)
